He is requesting to take these with him to his new classroom. As a committee, do you have any problem with this request? Something to consider, any teacher who has extra computers in their room could potentially request the same thing. Could be a logistical nightmare. However, if the teacher has had this hardware then it does seem fair that it stay with that teacher.","replyPages":[{"page":0,"digests":[{"id":"24051837","body":"My thought on this can be summarized by saying that the logistics involved are not worth the courteousy.

\nWhile I would be one of the teachers requesting that my hardware follow me to whatever room I am assigned (I have 5 student computers in my room), I also am sure that placing drops in my room if they don't already exist, as well as the logistics involved in disassembling and reassembling the computers would be...problematic. If this was an isolated case, or one of a few isolated cases, then my feedback would be different but having to do this with potentially 100 rooms does not seem wise. My two cents...","dateCreated":"1273677712","smartDate":"May 12, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"jgfloresta","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/jgfloresta","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"24051973","body":"And yes I know I misspelled courtesy...that's what I get for doing 5 things at once.","dateCreated":"1273677896","smartDate":"May 12, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"jgfloresta","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/jgfloresta","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/i\/user_none_lg.jpg"}},{"id":"24056045","body":"I see no problem with it, so long as the new location has the drops to accommodate the machines.

This was district policy. Some teachers rooms have only one, my room for example. Therefore some teachers have taken other classroom computers in order to get 3. Only two were designed to be in each classroom according to splost. I would consider moving one computer provided the room has two to start with to a room that could be used as a lab if that is possible. Whatever we decide it should benefit all not individuals

I am sure mos of us would want computer work stations .... and until we are all on equal footing, tech wise, I can see no fair way to grant that wish.

The staff member has them now and should be allowed to keep them. However, upon further mind-crunching contemplation, I believe that all should be given the same amount of units. Next year promises to be a completely new year in many many for all the faculty, and we should not be seen as playing favorites. As the progresses, we may get a clearer understanding of who really need extra units and just how many we have in the building. So I am for two per class at this time.","dateCreated":"1273692136","smartDate":"May 12, 2010","userCreated":{"username":"geneE","url":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/view\/geneE","imageUrl":"https:\/\/www.wikispaces.com\/user\/pic\/1273692292\/geneE-lg.jpg"}},{"id":"24158301","body":"Where is everyone getting this 2 per class thing? I never heard of it. Everyone I know has one desktop. It changed my opinion as well, are there actually the correct number of computers (not counting lab rooms) to have 2 desktops in each room?
